23-Jan-2012

After 15 years in Townsville operating an offshore marine safety business (sister company Wiltrading Pty Ltd), a logistics facility, and for the last 5 years an electrical contracting, electronic security access systems, and fire service business, LRI has taken the plunge and moved to exciting new premises at 22 Langton Street, Garbutt, Townsville. Boasting around 800m2 of warehouse, state of the art service facilities, offices, and training rooms / facilities, the centre will cater for both on and off-shore safety businesses in a fully air-conditioned modern environment. The training facility will officially be up and running in March-April and will eclipse any competitor in North Queensland, conducting gas detection and height safety equipment sales, equipment service, and training - particularly height safety, confined space, and other related courses.

The Group including sister company Wiltrading Pty Ltd has had a long exposure to central Queensland having had a safety and wharf services operation in Gladstone for near a decade. The time for action is now however, to support our Oil & Gas and major industrial clients, and a 528m2 premises has been leased at 71 Lord Street, just off Hansen Road, Gladstone. A top notch premises and currently being repainted and carpeted throughout. With ducted air-conditioning to over 250m2 of training rooms and office space, and a cool high-clearance warehouse packed with high-tech training props the business will be well and truly up and running in February.

The confidence in Queensland is well founded with over $150 billion being spent on known investments of coal seam gas in Central to SE Queensland, along with additional Coal Loaders in Gladstone and Abbot Point near Townsville to cater for large coal deposits being developed in the west. These are exciting times.
